It is small and probably will not feed more then 2 adults and maybe a small child depending on ones appetite. The first time I used this I made a 2 lb roast on top of the stove. First browned meat then made sure that I turned on the lowest setting possible which was .5 on my burner. The whole pot got really hot to include the lid and every thing cooked beautifully in about 5 hours. Could have easily fit veggies with the meat if I had wanted to. Made sure I used the ice cube reserve on top. We loved the roast but honestly I don't think that cooking the roast show cased the beauty of cooking with a Doufeu because I had cooked it with a gravy sauce. The point of the pot is to cook tougher meats and cook with little to no liquid allowing the ice cube cold water to build condensation on the inside of the lid basting and softening your choice of meat like magic.
