I do not recommend this item. I used it only once and was very careful using only a wooden spoon. After the pot cooled I washed it by hand and the enamel on the bottom of the inside of the pot started to come off!!

Do NOT purchase this item!

It is heavy, but I feel like a chef when I use it. I had no problem with chipping. It cleaned up easily and quickly. The only negative I have is that my finger got stuck in the opening of the handle when I lifted the pot for the first time. No harm was done. It might be a good idea to used pot holders whenever lifting the pot. I'm very happy with this dutch oven. It's a perfect size. There are only two in my household, but the pot will easily cook one-pot meals enough for a family of 4-6. I also like the fact that because the oven is porcelain -lined, it needs no "seasoning" or oiling before use. I'm enjoying this dutch oven. There... Read more
